Building Partnerships That Deliver More: A New Approach to Security Training

We're building partnerships with community centres, veterans' initiatives, charities and employability programmes, connecting more people with security training while generating income for partner organisations through a transparent 60/40 revenue-sharing model.

At The Security Tutor (tST), we believe that delivering better training means looking beyond the classroom.

It means building relationships, opening doors to new opportunities and working with organisations that share our ambition to help people develop new skills, improve their employment prospects and build a better future.

That's why we're looking to establish partnerships with community centres, veterans' initiatives, charities, employability programmes, local organisations and other groups that want to make a positive difference in their communities.

And we want those partnerships to work for everyone involved.

A Partnership That Benefits Everyone

Across our communities, there are organisations doing fantastic work to support people into employment, help veterans transition into civilian careers and provide individuals with the skills and confidence they need to take their next steps.

At the same time, the security industry offers a range of career opportunities for people looking to enter a new profession or develop their existing skills.

We believe there is a real opportunity to bring these two things together.

The Security Tutor delivers professional security training designed to equip learners with the qualifications and knowledge they need to pursue opportunities within the industry.

By partnering with local organisations, we can connect more people with training opportunities while creating an additional income stream for the organisations that help make it happen.

It's about working together to create opportunities, rather than simply selling courses.

Who Are We Looking to Partner With?

We are particularly interested in speaking with organisations that already have strong connections within their communities and want to explore new ways to support the people they work with.

These include:

  • Community centres and community groups looking to create opportunities for local residents.
  • Veterans' charities and initiatives supporting former service personnel as they transition into civilian life.
  • Charities and not-for-profit organisations seeking new ways to support employability, skills development and career progression.
  • Employment and skills programmes helping individuals access qualifications and new career opportunities.
  • Youth and community initiatives exploring appropriate vocational training opportunities.
  • Local organisations and social enterprises interested in developing a mutually beneficial commercial partnership.

You don't need to be a training provider or have previous experience in the security industry.

What matters is having an interest in creating opportunities, supporting your community and exploring how we can work together.

How Does the Partnership Work?

We want to keep our partnership model straightforward, transparent and fair.

The principle is simple: The Security Tutor works with a partner organisation to identify potential learners, promote suitable courses and help people access relevant training.

Depending on the organisation and the nature of the partnership, this could involve:

  • Promoting security training to your existing community or network.
  • Referring suitable learners to The Security Tutor.
  • Hosting training at your premises, where appropriate.
  • Developing training opportunities for veterans, people seeking employment and individuals looking for a career change.
  • Working together on initiatives designed to improve access to training and employment.
  • Exploring opportunities to deliver training locally, making it more accessible to the people who need it.

Every organisation is different, so we want to discuss what works best for you rather than impose a one-size-fits-all arrangement.

We will work together to understand your objectives, identify suitable training opportunities and agree on the responsibilities of each party before moving forward.

Our 60/40 Revenue-Sharing Model

One of the key benefits of partnering with The Security Tutor is the opportunity to generate income through our agreed revenue-sharing model.

We recognise that your organisation's time, resources, facilities and community connections have value. Equally, delivering professional training involves costs that must be accounted for.

Our approach is to establish the financial arrangements openly before any partnership begins.

Our proposed revenue-sharing arrangement is 60% for the partner organisation and 40% for The Security Tutor, after the agreed costs of delivering the training have been deducted.

Here's how it works.

Step 1: Agree on the Training Opportunity

We identify the courses to be delivered, expected learner numbers, course pricing and the practical arrangements for delivering the training.

Step 2: Account for the Agreed Costs

Before calculating the revenue share, we account for the agreed costs associated with delivering the training.

Depending on the arrangement, these may include:

  • Tutor and delivery costs.
  • Awarding organisation and learner registration fees.
  • Training materials and equipment.
  • Venue hire and associated expenses.
  • Marketing and administration costs.
  • Other agreed costs directly associated with delivering the course.

The specific costs included in the calculation will be discussed and agreed in advance.

Step 3: Apply the 60/40 Split

Once the agreed costs have been deducted from the course revenue, the remaining amount is divided as follows:

  • 60% goes to the partner organisation.
  • 40% goes to The Security Tutor.

This arrangement recognises the contribution of the partner organisation while ensuring The Security Tutor can continue delivering professional training and developing its services.

Step 4: Build a Sustainable Partnership

Our aim is to develop long-term relationships that provide ongoing opportunities for both parties.

As demand grows, we can explore additional courses, new learner groups and further opportunities to work together.

All relevant costs, responsibilities, payment arrangements and the revenue-sharing calculation will be documented and agreed before the partnership begins.

What Could the Financial Return Look Like?

To help explain the model, here's a straightforward example.

Imagine a training course generates £3,000 in revenue.

Example calculationAmount
Total course revenue£3,000
Less agreed delivery and operating costs£1,800
Remaining amount to be shared£1,200
Partner organisation receives 60%£720
The Security Tutor receives 40%£480

In this example, the partner organisation receives £720 after the agreed costs have been deducted.

The Security Tutor receives £480 as its share of the remaining amount.

These figures are illustrative only. Actual course prices, costs, learner numbers and financial returns will vary depending on the training delivered and the specific partnership arrangement. There is no guaranteed income or fixed financial return. The purpose of the example is to demonstrate how the agreed 60/40 split works.

We believe transparency is essential. Both parties should understand the costs, the calculation and the expected payment arrangements before committing to a partnership.

Why Partner With The Security Tutor?

We want our partnerships to deliver more than a financial return.

We want them to create tangible value for the people and communities involved.

For Community Centres

A partnership could create an additional income stream, make productive use of suitable facilities and introduce local residents to new training and career opportunities.

For Veterans' Initiatives

Working together could provide former service personnel with access to relevant security training and a potential route towards civilian employment.

For Charities and Employability Organisations

A partnership could complement existing support programmes by introducing relevant vocational training and helping people explore new career pathways.

For Local Organisations and Social Enterprises

The partnership could provide an opportunity to combine your existing community connections with professional training delivery, creating a potential source of income while supporting local development.

For The Security Tutor

Partnerships allow us to reach more learners, respond to local needs and make training accessible to a wider range of people.

Ultimately, we want to create relationships where each party contributes something valuable and shares in the benefits.

More Than a Revenue Share

Although the financial model is an important part of the opportunity, we believe the real value comes from what we can achieve together.

Imagine helping someone gain the qualifications they need to pursue a new career, supporting a veteran as they transition into civilian employment or giving a local resident access to training they might otherwise struggle to find.

Now imagine building a partnership that helps make those opportunities possible while generating income for your organisation.

That's the kind of partnership we want to develop.

We are interested in working with organisations that share our belief that training can open doors, build confidence and create new possibilities.

By combining our training expertise with your community connections, we can explore opportunities that benefit learners, partner organisations and the wider community.

Let's Talk About What We Could Achieve Together

We appreciate that every organisation has different priorities, budgets and responsibilities.

That's why we would much rather have a conversation than send out a generic partnership package.

We want to understand what your organisation does, the people you support and what you would like a partnership to achieve.

From there, we can explore suitable courses, delivery options, potential demand and a fair, transparent arrangement based on our 60/40 revenue-sharing model.

Whether you represent a community centre, veterans' initiative, charity, employability programme or another organisation interested in exploring a partnership, we'd love to hear from you.

There is no obligation to proceed. The first step is simply a conversation about what might be possible.
