Welcome to The Team House

The Team House accommodates up to 12 students, with shared bedrooms, communal living spaces and kitchen facilities. Located within easy reach of local amenities and accessible by road and rail, it provides an ideal environment for students to learn, train and live together.

More Than Just a Classroom

Close Protection is built around teamwork, trust, discipline and the willingness to support those around you. By living and training together, students develop the cohesion, camaraderie and helping spirit that are essential within an operational Close Protection team.

It also gives our instructors the opportunity to introduce realistic, scenario-based training throughout the course. After all, operational situations don't always happen conveniently between 0900 and 1700.

And let's just say, our instructors always have something planned that will take you outside your comfort zone.

Operational Fitness & Personal Standards

Close Protection can be physically and mentally demanding, and students should arrive with a reasonable level of fitness and an understanding of the expectations of the industry. We have an arrangement with a local gym, providing students with the opportunity to maintain their fitness throughout the course.

Life at The Team House also comes with responsibilities. Kitchen facilities are shared and maintained by the students, and a hot evening meal is provided, or the ingredients necessary to prepare one are supplied daily. Bedrooms are allocated on a shared basis, so personal hygiene, consideration for others and maintaining a clean living environment are paramount.

We won't be inspecting your bed space with a Sergeant Major every morning, but we do expect high standards.

The Tempo Builds

As the course progresses, so does the operational tempo. Each day introduces new challenges, increased responsibilities and opportunities to put your developing skills into practice.

Students are encouraged to demonstrate initiative, leadership, effective communication and, above all, the ability to function as part of a team. Our instructors bring genuine operational experience into the training environment, helping students understand not simply what to do, but why it matters.

The Final Exercise: Putting It All Together

Your Close Protection course concludes with four exercises that come together to test the knowledge, skills, teamwork and professionalism you have developed throughout your training. These exercises are designed to challenge you and help demonstrate whether you are ready to take your first steps into the Close Protection industry.

At The Security Tutor, our courses are not simply tick-box exercises where attendance guarantees success. There is a standard to achieve, and assessments are pass or fail. We will give you the instruction, guidance, support and opportunities to develop, but ultimately, the commitment must come from you.
